Code

I’ve tried to learn programming on a few occasions in recent years. I always started out full of motivation and hope. I had fun learning and was surprised at how easily things would click. But then a few weeks in i’d make an excuse…

“Not tonight I just want to watch a movie/play a game/zone out.”

And while it’s perfectly normal to want to take a break from something it always ended up being a permanent break.

So what’s different this time?

Well it’s still early… so maybe nothing. Maybe in a months time i’ll be on another permanent break. Time will tell. My biggest driver is that I’d like to make it more than a hobby. And to do that it’s going to take a lot of patience and a lot of determination!

My first step is Free Code Camp a completely free full stack web development course that can be completed with just a browser. I’d tried Codecademy and a few other tutorials before but I didn’t feel there was a clear route to take to get where I want to be. Free Code Camp sets the route out ahead of me.

So.. Fingers crossed. Here we go!
